Why Is This Important to 7th Graders?
Studying this topic helps 7th graders better understand the world in which they live in. If students were not educated about subjects such as pollution and flooding, they would not be motivated to help ease the suffering of the world around them. Seeing the effects of the problems that are happening in different countries can open the eyes of the students to a larger and more different world than the one they currently live in. Although it may seem that problems such as air pollution in China is not affecting people in America, if caution is not taken by the student generation, then their future may suffer consequences too. Learning about these problems also inspires students to help change the world and give money to those who are in need of help of either finding a home because a flood washed it away, or they need healthcare because the water from the Ganges river is toxic. Small actions can build up to create a great difference.
